 Since 1976, the Lille National Orchestra has developed a genuine artistic project: contemporary operas, providing opportunities for young talent and introducing the world of opera to a young audience. The Lille National Orchestra, directed by Jean Claude Casadesus, is accommodated in the Nouveau Siècle, a Music Hall which also plays host to prestigious classical music groups. |

Théâtre du Nord |

 Benefiting from National Drama Centre status, the Théâtre du Nord operates on two sites in the Département of Le Nord. In Tourcoing, it uses the Théâtre de l'Idéal, a former cinema which was turned into a theatre at the end of the seventies and refurbished in 2002. In Lille, it stages plays in the Théâtre Roger Salengro located on the Grand'Place (Main Square), and was officially opened by Pierre Mauroy in 1989. The Lille site has two theatres of 450 and 100 seats respectively. |

Le Grand Bleu |

 Le Grand Bleu, one of the six National Drama Centres, focuses on the youth market with a particular emphasis on new styles, hip hop and contemporary dance. The shows organised in this centre, which can accommodate an audience of up to 320 people, cater for both young children and teenagers. |
